The City of Riverside Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”)/Treasurer is appointed by the City Manager with the approval of the City Council, in accordance with the City of Riverside City Charter. Under the authority granted by City Council, the Treasurer is responsible for the management of the City’s funds. This responsibility includes the investment of unexpended cash in the City Treasury in agreement with the Statement of Investment Policy and control of all expenditures, ensuring that budget appropriations are not exceeded. The CFO/Treasurer is also Director of the Finance Department and oversees the activities performed by each Division of the Finance Department.

The Decommission Report provides an update on the status of funds that have been set aside by Riverside Public Utilities (RPU) for the decommissioning of the San Onofre Nuclear Generation Station for which RPU has a less than 2% ownership stake. On a quarterly basis funds are withdrawn from this account to pay for any cost incurred for the decommissioning.
