First Phase Completed on Emergency Sewer Line Construction in Orangecrest
Work continues from Trautwein Road and Mission Grove Parkway to Alessandro Boulevard and Barton Street
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The City of Riverside Public Works Department is making progress on an emergency construction project to repair a failed sewer line in Orangecrest, and the work remains on schedule to be completed in November.
Construction started in July to repair the underground sewer pipe that runs along Trautwein Road from Mission Grove Parkway to Alessandro Boulevard at Barton Street. The recently-completed first phase of construction installed an above-ground temporary wastewater bypass line so that the below-ground pipe can be emptied and repaired.
The contractor now is repairing the below-ground line on Alessandro Boulevard at Barton Street and will work down Alessandro to Trautwein Road, ending at the Mission Grove Parkway intersection. Once the below-ground pipeline is repaired, the above-ground bypass line will be removed and the Trautwein and Alessandro road medians will be re-landscaped.
Normal working hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. However, in order to shorten the construction duration and minimize impacts to the community, the contractor will be authorized to work after hours and weekends as required to complete the project.
To support the construction activity, and for traffic and public safety, the right lane on northbound Trautwein Road and the right lane on eastbound Alessandro Boulevard will be closed through project completion in November 2017. It is recommended that motorists plan accordingly and use alternate routes.
Project questions or concerns can be directed to SAK Contractors (562) 292-4268.
