Signage “No Fires Due to High Wildfire Risk”

The City of Riverside Fire Department, in cooperation with the Public Works Department, recently installed 14 fire-related signs, in both English and Spanish, at all formal entrances to the Santa Ana River Bike Trail. The signs, labeled “No Fires Due to High Wildfire Risk,” are part of a larger on-going effort to combat wildfires in the surrounding area. 

Since June 1, 2021, the City of Riverside Fire Department has responded to 116 vegetation fires within city limits. Per Riverside Municipal Code (R.M.C.) Ordinance Section 305, Section 307, Section 308, and Section 16.32.020, campfires, barbecues, and the use of open flame - including camp stoves - are not permitted in open wildland spaces within the city of Riverside.
