NOTE TO OUR STUDENTS, PARENTS, AND COMMUNITY
The Riverside Police Department has been investigating the validity of a social media post screenshot that went viral overnight in regards to gun violence occurring at a school that some believed had been identified as Riverside Poly High School. As a result of the information gathered through the investigation, it appears this is nothing more than an unsubstantiated rumor being circulated that is believed to be directed at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, not our Riverside Poly High School. However, as always, we are taking appropriate safety measures at our schools in light of the recent rumors.
We would like to thank those concerned students and parents who reported this to us last night. We also want to remind our community members that if you are made aware of social media threats, it is best to notify your local law enforcement agency and not share postings that have not been verified or investigated.
