Riverside is Proud to Join Communities across the US for Earth Hour
Published: 03/21/2018
On Saturday, March 24, 2018 Riverside facilities will go dark from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in order to bring awareness of and support for protecting our planet and the need for strong global action for stopping climate change.
Earth Hour is designed to demonstrate how people can make a big difference through easy steps – if we are all working together. For example, ensuring that all non-essential lights are turned off during the Earth Hour demonstrates how we can all save electricity in our homes and businesses, just by turning off lights when we leave the room.
Nobody wants to see climate change do significant damage to our planet. But these small steps make a big difference if we all embrace them together!
During the Earth Hour event, all non-essential lights will be turned off in facilities across the City including City Hall, libraries, police stations and fire departments. The City of Riverside also encourages you to join the event by turning off your lights!
