Riverside Residents, Workers Encouraged to Participate in Riverside Survey
Success of effort to measure feelings about quality of life depends on active participation
RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The City of Riverside is encouraging people who live and work in the city to respond to the Riverside Survey, an effort that is underway to gauge feelings about quality of life issues here.
Results from the Riverside Survey will help decision-makers make more informed choices on how to improve the quality of life in Riverside and how to promote the city to future residents and business owners.
“The City of Riverside cares about how people feel about living and working in our city,” Mayor Rusty Bailey said. “Participation is critical so we can learn where our constituents feel we are doing well, and where there is room for improvement.”
The 2019 survey will repeat at least some of the questions asked in similar surveys taken in 2013 and 2015. Mirroring past questions will help measure improvement or decline in the perception of Riverside as a place to find a good job, get an education, find housing, be safe, etc.
The survey is being administered once again by the Institute of Applied Research at California State University, San Bernardino. The Institute conducted both the 2013 and 2015 surveys.
The 2019 survey will include a telephone component and an online component. It will be available in both English and Spanish.
When survey takers call, it will register on your phone as “CSUSB.” Please answer.
The survey also will be available online on April 22 through the website EngageRiverside.com.
“Whether it is answering a phone call or logging on to the website, participation in the Riverside Survey is vital,” Mayor Pro Tem Mike Soubirous said. “We want to know what needs more work, and where we are doing well, so please take the time to register your thoughts.”
Survey results are expected in late summer.
