RiversideTV to Premiere “9/11, One City Remembers”

Film honors those who perished in the 9/11 terrorist attacks and local rescue team

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – RiversideTV, the City of Riverside’s in-house television production studio, is premiering a documentary film honoring those who perished in the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States while paying tribute to Riverside’s own Urban Search & Rescue CA Task Force 6 (CA TF6) who engaged in search and rescue efforts in New York City immediately following the tragedy.

The film, “9/11, One City Remembers” will premiere at 8 p.m. Wednesday (9/8) on RiversideTV.  Through rare interviews, archival film footage, and many never-before-seen photographs,  members of CA TF6 recount their deeply personal and profoundly moving recollections of service and duty on “The Pile” in the wake of unspeakable horror.

Listen in as family members tell of uncertainty, worry, anxiety and, finally, joy as the team returned from their 11-day trip and is embraced by the Riverside community.  The 105-minute film also touches upon the many challenges team members faced upon their return.

The FEMA Urban Search & Rescue Team is one of only 28 in the country and has been sponsored by the Riverside City Fire Department since 1992.

“One of the most in-depth peeks yet inside the private world of the FEMA US&R team community and how they operate. Hear stories of hope and inspiration spring up from turmoil and grief, witness the very best that our Nation can be” said Tim Roche, RiversideTV producer and filmmaker.  “A truly revealing look behind the scenes as a 60-member team faced with stark realities and painful visages is still buoyed by a grateful people throughout”.

RiversideTV can be viewed locally on Charter Spectrum channel 3, AT&T channel 99, and Frontier channel 21. Riverside TV is also available at WatchRiverside.com and YouTube.com/CityofRiverside.  The station broadcasts 24 hours a day 7 days a week and has a reach of more than 500,000 locally.
